I used paste on my assistant 4 hours after mixing it and the next day the color was barely there...it looked like it was about 2 weeks old. I used the same paste on her 2 days later (so the paste is now 2-2.5 days old and has been sitting out in the heat but also in my house) and did some designs on the back of her hand. I saw the designs the next day and they were chocolate brown. While this is just one instance, it seemed that the pine oil might preserve the staining power of the paste in addition to making it nice and dark. I also used this 2 day old paste on another friend's palms and again it left a fabulous color. Hmmmmm....much experimentation needed. Kenzi
