henna sighting?

I may have found another unusual henna sighting...

I bought a book of Erte's fashion designs and covers from Harper's
Bazar, 1918-1932. I found in there several pictures where it looked
like the women had henna'd fingertips and/or palms. most were in
black and white so I had to kind of guess what color her fingertips
were, but one was in color, from the November 1920 cover. I've put a
piece from that image with this post. One of the B/W sketches the
womans fingers are shaded in so dark they're black. Anyway, not sure
if it's henna or some stylized manner of drawing he had. Neither
would surprise me--Erte often had Asian influnces in his designs.
