: As most of ya all know,I´m persian.
: I have never been to Iran,so I wanted to go up there this summer.---
-
: But you need to have an Irani pass-so,no matter,I thought, and my
: daddy and I went to the Irani consul, brought our papers and
: everything and we were introduced for the coming week,so we can
: pay,whatever they charge a.s.o.....
: This time,my hands were hennaed with Irani designs.......really
: nothing "modern" or really no "western" designs or suchlike....
: WELL.....I went in,we were talking to the guy there,then I wanted
to
: take out a cigarette.....and he saw my hands.MY LORD.......at first
: he screamed and began, that allah doesn´t wants that our body has
: tattoos..then I explained to him,that it was henns,and that henna
was
: used in Iran a loong time ago and that is even still used in some
: family and I told him, that I´m working on a book bout Persian
: hennadesigns.....
: Then he suddenly said "Iran doesn´t needs kids like you-you are not
: persian you have become Austrian, and allah doesn´t want that you do
: enter his holy land......."
:
: And everythink because of the henna......
: But really,I do hope,that I get my pass..cause I really wanna see
my
: country!
: And really,his words made me sad..but I know,that what I´m doing
will
: help folks in future to know what Irani henna was once......

Oh, that is just not right, but last year my firend who is also
Persian wanted me to go with her to Tehran and meet her parents,(she
didn't want to go by herself and her sister couldn't go) I always
wanted to go, despite what my government thinks. I was all set,
until: I went to the Iranian mission with her in NYC. To see if i can
get permission, the US state dept said go at your own risk,(with a
counslate warning sheet) make copies of your passport(duh, i always
do) and i will be dealing with the Swiss counslate there. This is why
I wasn't allowed according to the Iranian Mission in NYC #1 I'm an
American, #2 I'm not Muslim and #3 I'm a woman, married woman going
without her husband. My US passport will not be accepted. I told him,
that i want to see some archeological sites. Oh, then you are going
to steal treasures from our country? he said. I said no. Sorry you
need to be an Iranian citizen with an Iranian passport. Okay so i
gave up and didn't go(her sister went after all) I hope you get your
pass and go visit Iran. Bright Blessings, Christine (who has no
patience for buracracy)
