If it is black, you would be better off not doing henna, as henna is
brown, or varying shades of brown. Henna does NOT come in black!
What they call "black henna" has all kinds of nasty chemicals added
to it to make it black, the most notorious is something called PPD,
which in addition to the possibility of a chemical burn with blisters
and scarring, can cause serious organ damage. But, natural henna is
a very enjoyable thing in itself, just remember that if it's any
color other than brown/orange/reds, it's not natural, and potentially
dangerous.

: I am in the process of having a real tattoo removed and so it is
half
: gone and looks pretty tacky. I am going on vacation in about 3
weeks
: and was thinking about getting it covered with henna body art or
: mendhi so that it will look good since I don't want to keep it
: covered up on the beach. Does anyone have any advice on this can
this
: even be done? How long would this last in a beach/swimming
: environment and last of all how can I find someone in my area that
: can do this - how would they list in the phone book? I live in
Austin
: TX, but would be willing to drive if I thought it would be worth
it.
: How much does it usually cost or would it be better to get a kit
and
: do it myself. Any advise would be greatly appreciated
