If there is alot of rain and then it is followed by sun, people pour into the streets. This works out great if the event is 2-3 days and the first day is rainy. Our event yesterday was rained out in the morning but once the sun came out it was mayhem. As for getting people to wait or figuring out what to do about drying time etc....I usually ask people to wait for 10-15 minutes while their henna dries and make sure I have plenty of chairs for them to sit in. Sometimes they want to walk around the fair so I suggest they return for lemon-sugar, but if their design in on an area where they are likely to get bumped I encourage them to sit in our booth and wait. There are some people who can't wait and for those I give them a lemon-sugar soaked cotton ball in a little ziploc baggie (1 inch x 1.5 inches) to take with them, along with the aftercare sheet. On Saturday the day was so humid that the henna was taking FOREVER to dry...it was a half an hour before the surface of the designs became matte! Our strategy was to amuse them and chat with them, talk to them about henna etc. We got a bunch of tourists so we talked to them about their visit to NYC and asked about the shows they saw etc. Fortunately no one was eager to leave quickly...the humidity just weighs you down and you don't feel like moving. I think having music helps keep people happy while they are waiting. Also, you can give them the aftercare sheet to read at this time and that will keep them busy and also ensure that they read
