*sigh* such luscious, shiny, soft locks. Your hair is GORGEOUS,
Catherine! I hennaed my hair last Sunday though I was doubtful in the
beginning. I was asking Kenzi if it's alright to henna over
highlighted hair. I have jet black hair with reddish-copper
highlights. The last time I highlighted my hair was nearly a year ago
(and yes, I went to the salon where they used chemical gunk). My hair
has grown out about 6 inches but the ends are still brownish.
Recently, the crazy weather in Singapore has wrecked havoc to my
scalp and I had really bad dandruff. I started using anti-dandruff
shampoo but to my horror, my hair started shedding in big amounts.

Kenzi told me that henna is great in getting rid of dandruff and that
it works for her husband. So I contemplated if I should henna over my
highlights. Last Sunday, I mixed 5 heaping tablespoon of fresh Meccan
henna with really strong tea, juice from half a lemon and one egg
white and my mama helped get that on my hair (my hair ends halfway
down my back). I wrapped the hair in saran wrap and a towel. I kept
the henna on my hair all night (about 8 hours). My hair smells like
henna, so sexy *grins* and yummy! I have to say I'm very pleased with
the colour. The highlighted parts is a beautiful shade of dark red
but the black hair stays black. My hair shines beautifully and the
dandruff disappeared. I'm just glad that my hair didn't turn into
some other weird colour *grins*. I guess since it has been a long
time I last highlighted, the henna did not affect the chemical dye at
all. Wonder what others think of this.

Just wanted to share this experience.

Love & peace,

~Jewel~
