When in Morocco I learned that they often use cement to make their
henna darker, even black. The technique is as follows: apply henna as
usual, and let it dry without using lemon-sugar, then sprinkle dry
cement all over the hands or feet. Then put the hands or feet into
plastic bags for 1 hour after which you take the bags off and remove
the cement and the paste. Supposedly the stain will be black.

I was very excited about this discovery until Catherine reminded me
that the active ingredient was quick lime which is used to decompose
bodies in mass graves. Seems like it would be pretty bad for your
skin
