Non-staining hand cream?

I remember back in the depths of time on this forum someone saying
they had found some cream for dyers and painters which was meant to
keep their hands from getting stained. Did this get tried, and did
it work? I was thinking that if it did work, it might be useful for
putting on a stencil so you get the resistance where it should be and
the stain where it should be. Hmmm. I've looked for it myself and
had no luck. any suggestions?
