A few of the teachers have asked about it or have known something about it, and the kids love it. The prinicpal mentioned it once in passing, but in a rather neutral way. Parents I've met seem to know me mainly through my hands ("My daughter talks about the henna all the time") rather than through my ability to teach (though that does get mentioned). At first I thought the henna would distract the students, but once they see it, they don't seem to notice it for the rest of the day. I'm sure once I'm hired as a full time teacher, that will change. I guess it will depend on the school system. (A middle school teacher in one of the nearby school systems has a pierced nose . . .) Anne : What kind of experiences has everyone had with wearing henna in a : visible place (hand, etc.) at work? I took a chance and have some on : my hand today. Nobody has said anything yet, but I think my boss : looked at me funny. She probably thinks it's magic marker! :P How : have other people handled this?
