Just wanted to share about this weekend's festival with y'all.
My little sister, she's 15, was with me to help out, usually she gives
instructions and takes money while I henna but lately I've been trying
to teach her to henna. I finally convinced her to give it a go last
week and she tried 3 small designs on me. I couldn't get her to
practice more, she was busy with other things, you know how it goes.

Anyway, the festival was busy busy and there were some little girls
wanting the easy $5 patterns and my sis said she was comfortable
attempting them on the squirmy young ones. Boy - after the line of
customers saw her working they grabbed on to her and she did $5
patterns for the rest of the afternoon! She was nervous, but competent
and I just asked her to go slow and stop or pass them on to me if
she felt she couldn't do a design. It was crazy, she worked all day,
as did I!
Then, there was a film crew from the Fox Family Channel and they
wanted to film us. I was really nervous and uncomfortable but agreed
so they set everything up and I did a pattern on the female DJ's wrist
and looked up and noticed they had my newbie henna artist sister doin
one on the guy DJ! I couldn't help but giggle...
So all in all it was great fun, my sister kept the line movin, made a
little money and we'll be on TV Saturday night for about 10 seconds.
It was a strange experience doing henna with a film crew, not good for
a shy girl, besides they kept having 're-do's ' and we all know it
only takes a few minutes for the simple designs so I just kept
retracing over it, kind of silly.
