Please, link away, but....Posted by jessica on June 28, 2001 at 09:22:02: In reply to: Lovely! Questions... posted by Lauren on June 27, 2001 at 20:21:55: don't forget everyone to send me your information if I don't allreadyhave it and I'll add a link next time I'm updating. : I'm very interested in writing with henna, so I'd love to see a : translation of what the written ones say, and in what script. : Also, what did you use for henna? Great color. The hand on the main page is in Sanskrit and is om mani padmi om. There is a hand in the gallery that has a variation of a Catherine Cartwright Jones design with Sanskrit around the wrist, the words were 'felicity' and 'happiness.' They were to celebrate a birthday! I've tried lots of henna including Castle Art and some from Kenzi and for a while I was using some from Ojai Body Arts Co. which produced a nice color. For festivals I've actually been using the Mud from Matthew. It releases quickly so the squirmy people are always sure to get a stain but I like to leave it on 7+ hours (over night) for a nice stain. The only down side is that by day 10 it's looking pretty skanky and is all but gone, on the edges of the feet I usually have pumpkin for 3+ weeks or so though it's very light, however it has always been consistent and reliable which is really important to me. I love to mix my own but have a problem with consistant results so the Mud fulfills my need for festivals quite well. I'm always trying to mix myself, believe me if I could get results like Catherines I'd be home brewin' all the time. Thanks for all the truly nice feedback, it's nice to hear from professionals that I'm holding up my end and doing some things right! thanks, jessica
