Yes, regular paper will work, but transfer paper makes it easier to
see. I like to use the restickable adhesive glue sticks from the
office supply section. (the post-it glue sticks) they anchor your
paper and won't hurt your pattern. Don't get your skin too wet. Try
some store brand K-Y jelly and just use enough to dampen the skin.
Let us know how it works.
