Cajeput, Ravensara, Frankincense and Tea Tree oil behave very
similarly ... and they all have extremely high terpineol levels! I am
comfortable with the scent of all of them except tea tree.

Personally, I'm blown away. If as a group on this forum, we've found
a group of fairly harmless EO's that will give the dark fast stains
desired by the public.... that will help kick away any argument for
PPD's.

Ravensara is very expensive here, but cajeput is not ..... ravensara
is about 1/3 in the UK of what it is in the US.

One small note of thanks ... I wouldn't have figured this out without
Karwadia's Jani henna.... which comes with a packet of terpineol. If
you really don't feel like worrying about which EO has the highest
level of terpineol ... order up some Jani henna! The packet's right
there for you. And .. though there is a similarity of the words
turpentine and terpineol ... they are NOT the same thing! Terpineol
is a molecule occurring in many essential oils, including eucalyptus
oils ( which have it in varying levels ... seems I never got my hands
on one that had much). I keep looking, but I haven't found any reason
to believe that terpineol and the above EO's are any more dangerous
than eucalyptus oil. SOMEONE, inevitably will have a difficulty,
which is why steam, heat or wrap will always be the safest .....
especially with pregnant women or children ...

All the faq sheets I've found on this group look pretty
non-threatening. (Cajeput is used in throat losenges and gargles .....
and a few other things for which safety is a great concern.....) (If
you can put it *there*, it can't cause that much difficulty on the
rest of you....)
