Cajeput is like "mother of all mentholatum".

Ravensara smells like something my grandmother used to rub on me when
I had bronchitis. She called it "chicken salve" because it was
something her parents rubbed on sick chickens (thank you, grandmother
..... must be why I can do such a spirited "cosmic hostile chicken
imitation" buc....buc....buc.....) .... it was a dark salve similar
to mentolatum or vap-o-rub, but dark and stronger. Some sort of
cedar-pine-menthol-with a heavy woody base. If you could combine cedar
shavings and menthol and the smell of a pine barren in the summer
heat, with a scent like the inside of a violin, and a wood floor
cleaned with pine-sol and magnify that by about 1,000 .....that would
about get it. It's also like Tiger Balm .... but more resinous and
more intense.
