Oh ..... I just remembered something ....one bottle of surma I had had a ferocious scent of
menthol/camphor/terpinol It could be that there are monoterpine
hydrocrbons in surma that are zapping the henna black ... NOT because
of the black color, but because of the action of terpines. (sound of

hunting for the surma) Found it! (sound of Catherine opening bottle,
taking a deep whiff and then swearing profusely as her nose goes
ballistic and eyes sting and water from the intensely
menthol/camphor/terpineol smell .... boy was that a mistake)
OK .... there are enough monoterpines in that stuff to do the job!
Interesting! It's not the black color, it's the terpines in the mix
that nuke the henna black in that hand!
Next time .... I'm holding that stuff at arms distance. I'd also
recommend frank or caj to do the job.
(sound of Catherine scampering off to bow her nose a few hundered
times).
