OH Miss Kenzi, you know I done tried straining it after I made it
into a paste, but this stuff is THICK! It wouldn't go through the
hose at all. I dont think it was ever sifted before being packaged
(a simple sack with a green emblem of a chica with the word "henna"
in farsi underneath).

For my regular stuff, your moroccan and my jamila, I usually strain
the paste through hose.

The best I've been able to do is use the sifting technique where you
put the contents in a piece of hose with marbles or something on top,
and then place it carefully in a coffee can, with a rubber band or
something to hold the hose in place. That works okay, but I have to
do it three times and it not only wastes a lot of henna but takes
forever to do.

In addition, I detest sifting henna in powder form because it's just
so bad for your lungs if you inhale it. That's one good thing about
the western henna craze these past ten or so years, decent henna
(already sifted) has been more readily available to us.
