Are they the same?I have some kohl from Morocco and some Hashmi kohl that I don't know where it is made, mine is from Malaysia. They seem similar except that one is powder and the other (Malay) seems mixed with at least oil. So what is the surma made from? Is it, like kohl from some sort of antimony? (I'm just 'toddler' full of questions lately...) : Interesting! My surma is totally different. Lateef Surma brand ... : from Pakistan. : It's a black powder, but in a strongly medicinal mix. It has no : ingredient list .. and I had an awful reaction to it! When I tried : it, it stung my eye so bad I had to run the faucet over my eye for 15 : minutes before the pain and stinging stopped! I still had some itchy : spots a month later where the surma had touched. : : The claims on the package are interesting ... says that it improves : vision and that **note, this time all the spelling and typing errors : are THEIRS, that I have meticulously copied from their insert** : "contineous use will remove your specticals." It also says "Lateef : Spectical Remover & millions of patients got benefited the : prescription in an extensive of 70, years experience and research" : "for fading eyes" : : I love the look of surma and kohl, but haven't had much luck finding : one I want anywhere near my face. It'd be great to find something : safe and reliable! : : I have a signed photo of an old friend Wavy Gravy .. who helped a : foundation to prevent blindness in third world countries. I think : I'll go give it a hug.
