One yearPosted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on July 5, 2001 at 13:34:52: One year ago on the forum, a woman PPD artist working on Santa MonicaPier posted, angry and defensive that we were taking food from her children's mouths telling her not to do PPD black henna. The Forum convinced her to stop and go to natural henna. Now ... PPD black henna is banned in Sanata Monica. The FDA has put out a statement declaring it illegal to import, sell, or use PPD black henna. One year ago, another woman who had been badly hurt with PPD on Venice Beach was going back to protest ... and though PPD slingers are still in Venice Beach, there is a lawsuit being filed against it. The injured woman was interviewed on channel 13, LA, in an expose' on black henna! And even though the first LA PPD story was aired with incorrect information, but the forum directly intervened and forced a piece to be done with this interview and the correct information about PPD black henna. PPD black henna is being shut down in Maui, and many other places, one, by one. A year ago, when people were injured by PPD black henna, physicians had no idea what they were seeing, and one very innaccurate and misleading medical article was all that was availble. Now there are 2 definitive accurate published medical articles on PPD black henna, so injured people can get correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment! Much progress in one year! At Sirius Rising last year ... Jeremy, the rest of camp henna, and I agreed that "something must be done" ... and we set out to work together on the project. The PPD rant was the result of that agreement last year ... and the influence has been astonishing. Once again, I'd like to thank everyone who posted the rant on their page, linked to the rant, edited and corrected the rant, helped provide information for the rant ... it was an effort by many, many people. This years Sirius looks to be relatively placid ... I went up Tuesday to set up camp henna, and Brushwood was green, birds were singing, the cork man had set up shop, and the last of the clam shells were still in the campfire circle. We'll miss all the people who planned to come and at the last minute couldn't make it in. We'll raise a cork to you! I pulled back the tarps from the batik area, and the serpents all said hello! There are 10 of them this year, of varying sizes, and they were very anxious to see Alex ... and were disappointed that she and others wouldn't be coming. Since it's a bit quieter this year at Sirius ... we can concentrate on tackling terpines! Lets see if we can work up the base of information for people to get results like the cajeput trial .... intensely dark henna .... safely and inexpensively, without *mystery meat" ingredients!
