Where did a woman with a degree in art get all this bio-info?

I was a voracious reader when I was little, an only child with time
on my hands, so ate through the local libraries very quickly ... and
went on to going through everything else I could lay my hands on.
My father was in medical school, and I LOVED looking through all of
his medical textbooks! The Netter books were my favorites! I
memorized them. I read every issue of JAMA that came out between
1956 and 1966, just for the hell of it, becuase it was delivered to
the house, and the Playboy came only once a month (that was better
reading, but my friends insisted that I share....)

So when I go dig out info on henna's effect on skin, it wasn't totally
unfamiliar territory. I'm a little clumbsy with the info, and often
find myself barely treading water in the deep end of the big words....
but I remember much of the medi-info, and can comprehend medical
articles like the Swiss Med journal piece on PPD easily.

I remember stuff from Playboy, too ... and that info still comes in
handy.
