wow, sounds like it went pretty well considering it was your first
time. I think you did everything right and it will probably lead to
many more clients. Let me know if you have any you can't do! ;-)

It sounds so much like the Indian wedding I did! Right down to
looking up and realizing 4 hours had passed and I hadn't eaten. I
must learn my lesson from this.

Too bad she didn't just tip you the $20, it would have been nice of
her, but not mandatory. Often people will ask me if they should tip
and I will usually tell them that it would be nice if they could just
tip my assistant. She gets paid but not as much as I do so the tip
helps a lot.

If you think you will want to use j-bottles for events like these I
would suggest that you pratice with them and get your muscles used to
them. I feel that hennaing for three hours pretty consistently in a
day, maybe 1-2 times a week should keep you in shape. Also, do the
cow-milking massage technique on your thumb to keep the muscles from
bunching up. Essentially you are using one hand to kind of milk your
thumb, pressing and squeezing and pulling from the base of the thumb
to the tip. Email me if you want a better description of the
technique!
