: : I'd use 1 - 2 tsp per 100 g of DRY henna powder.
: : Cajaput does as good a job and smells a damn sight better.
: : Tea Trees and cajaputi melaleuca are cousins.

Yes ... though as far as I have seen, the cajaput is a damn sight more
effective. The two have different arrays of terpines ... and the
terpines in cajaput seem to me to be far more reactive with henna
than those in euc. Problem with euc is that there are so many
different species and distillations ... you get different groups of
terpines in different products.

We hope to identify the most effective EO's and terpines to use with
henna at Sirius Rising ....
or at least make progress in that direction!

The goal would be to know precisely which terpines are the most
useful, so the "mystery meat" factor in pre-made pastes and elixers is
sidestepped, and people can make home-made paste that darkens deeply,
quickly, and with no wrap, steam or sealant.

That would be a great step forward against the holdouts that insist on
adding %^&*( to their henna to make it stain darker, faster, EZier.
