Expired liquid latex?

My liquid latex is starting to smell very much less than pleasant. On
the label it said that it had a shelf life due to the addition of
ammonia to the latex, but it really smells a little off. It doesn't
have the ammonia/paint smell it had when it was new, instead it is
begining to smell rather like puke. is it expired??
