: Ugh...I am a bit perplexed by people who call themselves
: Henna/Mehendi artists, but tell their clients of toxic additives to
: put into the paste to 'perk up the color'!!!
: I won't name the toxin here, I don't want people to try it.
: I was at a shop yesterday (30) miles from where I live, and the
owner
: was intrigued by the mehendi pattern on my hand. I noticed a flyer
: for a workshop saying there would be henna artists there. Then the
: owner of the workshop told me that the organizer for the workshop
: would be doing the henna work, AND that she told her 'you can add
: (insert chemical toxin name here) to the paste to make it darker
and
: perk up the color'. My friend, who was listening, said...'oh don't
: get her started on toxins being used with henna'. My friend was
: correct, I began a rant about the stupidity of using toxins on the
: skin...etc.
: So, I would like to work at this workshop if there is still room
for
: another mehendi artist. But if this woman is using crap in her
mix,
: I doubt I will work the event. I don't want to have to spend my
time
: explaining why it's bad, I would rather spend my time talking of
the
: positive aspects.
: Why oh why must people be sooooo irresponsible?

Oh yeah had this too.....lady from Sudan stating that Sudanese henna
is best blah blah blah.....you can add a natural salt to make it
darker and go black....oh yeah i asked what is that.....oh Ammonuium
i think they call it!!!......people with little actual knowledge i
think it is sometimes more the case than them being irresponsible!
