Re: artists thinking big thoughts, and that's a GOOD thingPosted by Maureen on July 12, 2001 at 19:05:29: In reply to: artists thinking big thoughts, and that's a GOOD thing posted by Darlahood on July 12, 2001 at 06:14:51: Hi Darlahood,I would love to be able to get my hands on the two articles. I have in my own subversive way integrated and infused art into every job I have had. If they hire me as a therapist, next thing you know they have an expressive arts therapist up in there....me. I am glad that colleges and universities today are breaching the subject of how to live and influence the world as an artist. When I studied, the focus was primarily your individual creations and how to get a job and make a living. Fortunately I am at the stage of my life now that the job stuff has taken care of itself and is not a worry. And the act of creating has taken on a much deeper meaning and purpose. Your message has started me to think of the possibilities that would present themselves if I just set myself up in a space with my sketch pad, portable easel and paints...but also have my henna. This does not take an event or permit or permission of any sort. There is indeed something about the act of just being there doing what you do as you create that creates the creative environment that others are drawn to. I will play with this a little more. Thanks. Maureen
