Skin on the back, chest and belly is less porous and harder to stain. The only time I got a nice stain on a hard to stain place was last week when I used an EO intense mix. 1 tbl dry powder (Kenzi's, but any fresh brand should work well), enough lemon juice to make a crumbly paste, enough black tea with cloves to make a nice pudding texture, 1/4 tsp honey (because I like the texture it gives the paste) and 1 tsp tea tree oil. It took about 3 days for the paste to reach maximum staining power. But once it stained, it has lasted on my inner arm (which usually never stains well at all) for more than a week at a nice dark freckle color instead of the usual pumpkin color I get. Hope this helps.
