I have heard of it once or twice. The funniest thing is that the
first time I told a friend that I was doing henna she asked if I was
smoking it (apparently the girls in the Philippines sometimes smoked
henna). I was mystified! That was the first I have heard of it and
I have still yet to figure out why anyone would want to smoke it.
Somehow I wouldn’t be surprised if it does have some psychotropic
alkaloids in it release with the smoke. After all the Salvia
Divinorum plant has some interesting chemicals and it is quite legal
in the U.S. despite it being a powerful hallucinogen.
