Siriusly Miraculous Terpine Tests and MessagesPosted by Catherine Cartwright Jones on July 17, 2001 at 14:51:16: The short incredible Sirius news is that thanks to about a hundredtest subjects and a huge box of EO's, Shanon and Zimra, Eliz and Pook (who came in on Friday), WE'VE CRACKED THE SECRET of making your own GONZO "treat'em and street'em" henna paste! No wraps. No sealer. Just put the paste on, and let it fall off of its own accord. NO fooling! The best colors you've ever seen! Just now I'm borrowing the admin computer for a few minutes so I don't have time for details ... but... I have on my hand now a mix that is deep, deep blackberry color on my palm, burgundy-chocolate on the back that was done with NO sealer, NO wrap, NO heat, and not a particularly long paste-on period! We have now several mixes that can be left on as little as 15 minutes with respeactable results! One hour ... good stain! Two to three hours left on is entirely sufficient for a great stain! Chocolate henna results on UPPERARMS, rich chocolate color around navels .... no wrap, no seal, just do and go! And, it's all home brew, no dodgy ingredients, no wondering what someone else put in it and why they're charging so much ..... and we have about 8 variants so if you don't like one you can try another. So far we've tested these with CA and Jamila, today we run Kenzi .... Some of these mixes give deep, deep stains while smelling gloriously of flower gardens (for the ladies) and we have 3 other mixes that have rich manly smells ... (never again gag on Tea Tree Funk!) People have been walking by the area and saying that it smells just wonderful! Those who feel that EO's will change moods can formulate these pastes to relax, excite, cheer, .... there is potential for creating deep-staining colors that have some emotionaly elevating characteristics. Delightful smells! Some ladies have also passed along to me info on the FDA EO regs (FDA is even dumber about EO's than it is on henna .... it allows adulterated EO's to be sold without listing the carrier or listing how much carrier is there, so the search is on to locate self-regulating EO companies! That's how we get the Mystical Ninny EO's that are absolutely useless! Some lurking aromatherapists stopped by and recommended good companies. I'll write everything up when I get back into town ... wish I had time to do it now for you ... but ... the magic word is Mellaluca, and the terpines to look out for are the ones ending in -OL, with the -O-H off the corner. Several lurkers who came in late for Sirius and Starwood have been helping me figure out what's happening with the -O-H off the henna molecule etc. Messages: Natasha, a friend of yours from Buffalo came in looking for you ... Jeremy .... we miss you! Boyan! AAAAUGH! I NEED YOU to explain all the chemistry to me and we are all suffering a clam deficit! Fiona ..... the raccoons have come through camp every night looking for you ... they got really upset and had to steal Gwyn's cereal and picked all the marshmallows out and left all the cereal. Alex, we did 3 of your stage sets, and Turku absolutely loved them, and they're staying up through Starwood. Eveyone thinks they're gorgeous. Shanon ... Eliz came in about 2 hours after you left, and Pook and several lurkers came in the next day! See you next week! Rosie, thanks for the flowers, they're garlanding the big tent that's "henna central". Amy, hello, and kiss your darling for us! The rest of you .... who wanted to be here..... hugs to you! Now, seems its time to take the Sirius Henna Conference on the road to YOUR neighborhoods! Daveed, Winnie, Billy, Lillith, Roy, and Michael all say "hi". Thank you's to Amy of Castle Arts, Kenzi, Mohammed Karwadia of Jani, and Syed Abid of Jamila for sending materials for us to test ... you've been a great support and help! Oh .... it does seem that henna does not stain particularly well during a tornado strike. Possibility: stress, sudden cold and panicky scrambling to re-erect tents deters a good stain. We had to touch-up the ones done that day. None of us here were harmed by the tornado .. just a bit rattled. Since then, all has been great fun. The bonfire was fantastic with the giant puppets, and Eliz got to be the dragon's shoulders! To all the lurkers and posters who are here now, and who came and went... Sirius hugs! To those who couldn't make it, we'll do our best to take up the slack and raid the cork man in your behalf! Gotta run ... need to mix henna!
