Well, since I do lots of people of color and have the ones who takehenna stains well and the ones who don't problem, I am pretty sure it
is not about pigmentation. I have a good friend who was the first
person I practiced henna on other than myself and no matter what I
did and she did we could not get a stain worth a darn. I would use
the same henna on myself and there it was a beautiful deep stain.
She and I are the same complextion. I almost stopped with the henna
because of the lack of stain on her. She was to be my
walking/talking advertisement. But I began using another friend as a
model and had no problem with her staining. So have not looked back
since then. We never figured out why my friend did not take the
henna stain and since she is the glutton for punishment that she is
and I am just totally unwilling to be defeated, we still try to get
her a stain yeah even until today. I want to check the menstrual
cycle thing with her and see if we can time this around her cycle.
God, I just feel that I have got to get her hennaed before I die.
