I just read something about drawing the designs with a paste made
from sugar and lime juice, leaving the paste to dry completely and
then dipping the hand in henna for a reversed design on a hennaed
background. The book doesn't give any further description than this
and no pictures. I wonder if the sugar paste could really be thick
enough to resist the henna? Don't you think the henna might just re-
wet the paste and make a mess? I don't know, but I have wanted to try
some sort of resist technique for a while. I'd love to hear the
results of anyone's experiments.
