If it dyes your hair black, it's PPD, and the rest of the desciption
sounds about right. On the upside, black stains last for a
relatively short time and are gone. Do take pictures if you can- if
you have any delayed effects, you'll want pictorial evidence. There
are sometimes delayed skin reactions of 2-3 weeks.
In the meantime, get thee to the person that did this and educate
them with the recent excellent medical reports. If they refuse to be
educated, educate the owner of the place they're doing it in, and if
THEY don't care, show them pictures and carefully whisper the
word "liability". This should be effective.

: Well the paste used was most definately black. Once applied it was
: black with a slight hint of metallic. It took about 45 minutes to
: dry and then it cracked and fell off. When I washed my hands after
: the stuff had cracked off, the water that hit the sink bottom was
: slightly yellowish. My hands were very black for about 3-4 days or
: so and then it started to fade fast. (I was at the beach, in the
: sun, surfing for most of the days.) I went back to have the really
: light parts touched up and now my hands are two-toned and pretty
: stupid looking. The faded part is kinda gray now and the hairs on
: the top of my hand are still black. (I'm blonde.)
: Any suggestions of what you think they used?
