I've *never* heard of that before!
My understanding is as long as essential oils are kept capped, and
away from light (dark bottles) they are fine...in fact, improve over
time. I have had a bottle of camomile EO since 1994, and it just
keeps getting nicer.
Maybe there's something related to the terpines that isn't mentioned
in aromatherapy? Something to do with what it does to henna?
Still can't wait to get a chance to try these new mixes.
Also re: rose geranium; I think all geranium EO is rose, as opposed
to windowbox "geranium" which, as I recall, is a "pelargonium" and not
geranium...

: My bottles say "Geranium bourbon: Geranium graveolens, source:
: Reunion"
: and "Geranium: Geranium graveolens, source: Egypt"
: That may not be much help.
: The Geranium Bourbon is lighter, the Egyptian one is earthier. I
adore
: them both! I also love the geraniol molecule!
: Wyndemere is:
: Wyndemere Naturals Inc,
: Minneapolis, Mn.
: 1-800-207-8538.
: Do I hear a stampede to get wholesale information from them?
:
: Honest to goddess ... if I were actually running a henna business,
I'd
: start testing mixes TODAY, come up with wonderful combinations ..
and
: sell henna powder and essential oils (separatly), with suggested
: combinations. (the FDA has no problem with selling henna NOT
: PRE-MIXED). Jani henna has it absolutely right ... to sell henna
and
: the terpineol separatly.
: Remember, too ... essential oils belong in the refrigerator! They'll
: demise worse than henna!
:
: If that FDA "clamp down on pre-mix" concept is tricky to understand
: ... here's a parallel ... you must have licensing to run a bakery
and
: sell bread, get inspections and go through all sorts of constraints.
: However ... you can sell flour, yeast, salt and water with far less
: difficulty, and just hand people the bread recipe free! That's how
: the FDA works, and if you look back at what *used* to go into food
and
: drugs, you'll want to hug them! The FDA regs are there for very
good
: reasons.
:
: So .. I'm NOT running a henna business, but if you ARE .... give
this
: a think. The information on the Sirius Mixes, plus all the links
Niko
: put up to terpines is the key to getting past praying that your
tubes
: of pre-mix don't get shitcanned by the FDA on the way in through
: customs. Get informed ... get legal ... stay legal .... do
miraculous
: henna SAFELY!
:
: No more secrets, eh? They're just not very helpful in the greater
: scheme of things.
