A few more questions that prolly are: rather simple for ya all. First, exactly how much henna will I have : (in paste form) if I buy 100 grams of henna powder, and is $9.00 US a : reasonable price for that amount? Yeah, it's reasonable if the henna is good quality. If you're paying _more_ than $10 for 100g, that's too much, but from $6-10 is about normal i think. 100g goes very far. Just don't mix it all at once! You will never be able to use it all. And don't over-estimate how much henna you'll need for a design. The first time i mixed henna, i started with a full cone, and i was amazed by how much i had left! So you really don't need too much. The only thing is if you are using a j-bottle, it helps to keep it more than half full to avoid cramping. Cones can be used down the the very last drop. Secondly, what do you guys all call : the art of henna, I work at the local Wal-Mart here in my little cow : town home and lots of people ask me about the designs on my hands, it : feels wrong to call it "henna tatoos" what do you all call it? Also I : was thinking of just printing up a little card or something with info : about henna on it, to hand to people who are truely curious and so I : dont' have to explain myself every five minutes, when WalMart gets : busy hearing the same question over and over brings on a case of what : CCJ calls the "Gryphs". I call it "henna body art." I feel that calling it mehndi excludes other traditions of the art, and people who may be a little more sheltered from the art respond better when they hear something in their own language. Kids at school used to ask if it was a burn or something, and if i was feeling really gryphy, i'd just say "yes, it's a burn" and walk away => One final question, do any of you have some : pics on the web or something of designs for men? I have found a few : boat-loads of designs for women, but not too many for men. My bf and : a guy friend of mine who I grew up with are both begging me to henna : them but I come up dry when considering a design for either of them. : Any help would be IMMENSELY appreciated!! Well... when Alex's book of patterns comes out from the TapDancing Lizard, that will be a great resource for modern tribal style designs. I love the style of Alex's work, her designs are usually my favorites for guys. Nothing frilly there, just gorgeous solidness. Go look in the Henna Page gallery section for lots of work by Alex. : Blessings, : Sarah And to you too! ~Nick
