Not only could it turn your hair blue, or green, or even purple, but it could have such a strong chemical reaction and create so much heat that the hair just burns off! Really! So be careful. The henna should fade from your hair in a few months, so leave it alone for a while. If you still don't like the color after that, then you can experiment. Harvest hair from your hair brush, and test dyes on that. If that's OK, then your whole head should be fine. Just be careful, and everything will turn out well. ~Nick : Hi there, I have been colouring my hair with henna for quite a while : but now I would like to move away from red (my hair is naturally : light brown and it is quite long so I don't want to cut it!). Is : there any way of removing henna from the hair or at least toning the : colour down? Can you dye over henna with a conventional semi : permanent hair colour to go back to a colour similar to my own? I : have been told you cannot use anything over it because it reacts and : turns your hair blue! Are these myths or truth? : Any advice would be very much appreciated. : Thanks, Julie
