Do you let your mixture sit out in the air or in the refrigerator overnight? I have seen lots of recipies using both methods I was just wondering which one is the better method. Thanks, Lisa charron : Hi Lisa, : : It is hard to determine what you are smelling. Some henna has a : stronger smell than others and some people like the smell and some : people don't. So it is hard to tell if you have the ordinary smell : or an extraordinary smell going on there. You probably want your : paste to be a bit smoother than mashed potatoes. You want more of : the consistency of yogurt that has been well stirred. To get there : you can add more of your coffee mixture or lemon. You might also try : adding some sugar to your mixture. I use sugar to make my paste : smoother but also because it helps the paste adhere to the skin when : applied. After you have your paste to the correct consistency you : will want to let it sit for awhile. I leave mine overnight at least : for the dye to release. Then if you are using the cajeput, tea tree : or ravensara, you would add it prior to applying. I usually add the : cajeput and apply the paste within about 45 min to an hour and get : really good results. None of the mehendi oils I have ever used : seemed to have much effect on the henna. The cajeput (in addition to : deepening stains) seems to make the paste stringy which I find : helpful in application. Hope this is of some help to you. : : Maureen
