I don't treat these goosed-up stains any different from regular
henna. I usually rinse the paste off with warm water (I don't like
New Skin for most occasions), and then use a rich hand cream to
moisturize. When I go swimming (which is most every day), I use some
goop that I created: beeswax melted with "Unpetroleum" jelly. I
found the "Unpetroleum jelly" at the health foods store, but you
could probably substitute olive oil or petroleum jelly. It's sticky,
but really stays put-- even after a half-hour in the pool and 15 min
in the hot-tub (my usual routine). I wouldn't recommend using it
while doing anything else since it's really sticky -- but you might
be able to adjust the ratio of oil to wax to make a less sticky cream.

For a hairdresser, I agree with Alissa, that perhaps a design that
won't get as much washing -- a wrist or armband or such -- is
probably the way to go.

Good luck!
