The other link I posted stated that cats cannot properly metabolise
the essential oils. Thus, my guess is as long as the oil itself
doesn't get on the cat or in the cat it's okay. I mean, don't let the
cat lick your design or anything, but just being around you should be
okay. For one thing, the oil in the mix will have absorbed into your
skin, leaving only the henna stain.

: I noticed the article discussed the results of using the oil *on* a
: cat, but does anyone know if that means that it could be harmful if
I
: have a stain from henna with the oil in it, and then I am with a
: cat? I'll be visiting a friend with a cat in a week and I wanted
to
: henna before I go, but I don't want to endanger the cat.
:
: : : Lastly, a warning that Tea Tree Oil is toxic to cats- for those
: of
: : : you who have curious ones:
: :
: : WOW! Thanks for finding that article! My older cat couldn't
care
: : less about aromatherapy or henna paste, but our kitten has to
check
: : out everything! I'll be extra careful from now on!
