sudden demise

i'm a litte confused here. I henna'd my palm on Friday 27 July with
fresh henna. al i used was lemon juice, a little water and sugar. It
was sealed with NS and wrapped with toilet paper and cling film
(saran)

I left it overnight, steamed it twice in the morning before removing
the paste.

Now 5 days later it is fading fast, why? Could it be due to the
heat? I have kept my hand out as much as I could yet the demise is
really quick. On my palm I expected at least a good two weeks before
noticable fade down.

Any Ideas?
