I just had to tell you guys about a woman I met today at the craft
show. Her fiance was interested in all the stuff we had especially
the pressed flower art that Mom does - he brought her over they
started looking at the table of henna books, kits, Indian jewelry and
amulets that I make. She told me that the "tattoo" on my hand
was "sick" - her fiance explained to her (as did I) that it wasn't a
tattoo but a temporary design...she still didn't like it. She then
got to the amulets (i make them out of clay and draw specific designs
ont he front with "incantations" on the back) these are for
various "good" things.....to loose weight, bring love, luck, etc.
Well she just about had a heart attack on the spot. I really don't
practice any type of witchcraft...just thought they were interesting
and the kids would like them (which they do).
She proceeded to ask if I was "Born again" well..sheesh...I'm a
Christian but I don't know about all the "born again" stuff...I told
her I was a christian, she said "do you believe in God?" I answered
honestly that yes I did, she asked If I knew who Jesus was....I
said "he is the light, the path, and the way." She dropped her
jaw....said, "well I like the stuff your mother does, but this stuff
is just sick" and huffed off. Her fiance was hysterical......
and so goes another wonderful craft show!
