Re: Pharmaceutical grade EOsPosted by Maureen on August 5, 2001 at 22:41:30: In reply to: Pharmaceutical grade EOs posted by Kenzi on August 5, 2001 at 22:03:51: Hi Kenzi,Thanks for raising the question. Hmmmmm....I guess I should have been clearer. Sleep deprivation makes me dance over the details. For the purpose of this tea tree they define pharmaceutical grade as less than 5% cineole and over 35% terpinen-4-ol. They stipulate that their pharmaceutical grade standard exceeds the American standards and is pharmaceutical standard as established by the Australian Tea Tree Oil Industry Association. (What ever that means to someone.) Forty percent terpinen-4-ol is around the percent, I believe, that Catherine was talking about. So I figured above 35% was close enough. Hopefully, the rest of this information will help Nico or someone else looking at this to determine if this is the type we need to be using. Sure hope so since I stocked up and it is the same tea tree that lots of others here have gone out and purchased. But it is really best to have this right before we start misplacing responsibility for our bad results. I can always return the tea tree and get plants instead. Good looking out!
