Hmmm, I have an idea who that might be...

There is an artist here in Seattle named Krysteen. She is the
proprietor of "Mehndi Madness" (I think it's www.mehndimadness.com).
They are the sort of henna "artists" who see henna as a temporary
tattoo, and have no interest in the history or traditions. They also
have a knack for stealing work or leads from other henna artists.
Stories abound about her, and I'm not going to go into them here (you
can email me if you want), suffice to say, when I was first getting
interested in henna and asked for her help she was VERY rude to me,
pretty much slammed the door in my face. Then I met Kree, who fed me,
hennaed me, gave me henna, let me start working with her, and was
generally awesome. Needless to say the differences speak for
themselves.
Knowing what I know about Krysteen, who I personally refer to as
"mcmehndi", I wouldn't be surprised if she jumped on Ozzfest. She is
a former piercer and seems to cater to the metalhead, tattoo-ed, sort
of crowd. "Duuuude! Like, I want barbed wire on my neck!" In my
opinion, not real henna artists. But then I am a snob ;)

: Dreads and facial piercings are damn near ubiquitous on the tour ...
: what you've described was NOT our henna team; we were on for 5
dates
: and no others.
:
: When the original henna artist cancelled for the tour, the organizer
: contacted me, and I opened the call to the Forum. As far as I know,
: only people who were posters or lurkers on the Forum were aware of
and
: responded to the call for henna teams. (that would tend to eliminate
: PPD black henna as an option, but could include the non-toxic
colored
: henna and Temptu). I told the organizer about PPD and he was deeply
: impressed with the rants and promised no one would be permitted to
do
: PPD. He signed up different teams for different venues as no one was
: able to take on the whole tour at the last minute. Someone named
: "Krysteen" picked up the east coast part of the tour. I just picked
: up 5 dates in the midwest.
:
: I don't know "Krysteen". The manager asked me for feedback on henna
: applicants, and I gave information on the people I knew ... but I'd
: not heard of "Krysteen".
:
: There were tattooists, piercers, air-brush body artists at Ozzfest,
: but I don't recall that any of them were dreaded ....
:
: Do remember that there are at least 2 sorts of "black henna" that do
: NOT include PPD .. and such may have been used. If this person
picked
: up the call for artists off the forum, and were regular forum
readers,
: I doubt that they'd be stupid enough to be slinging poison.
