The safe ones have dyes similar to Manic Panic and food colorings.The molecules are relatively large, and do not breach skin cells
easily, so the stains do not go deep or last long. Also, these dyes
tend to separate from the paste ... so you have to endlessly shake
the tube to try to get them to mix. They stain clothing, linoleum, car
seats, furniture wonderfully. They often do a disappointing job on
skin.
The specific ingredients SHOULD be listed on every tube, to protect
consumers from allergic reactions....
