I like to use glycerin. It cuts down on cracking. Glycerin attracts
moisture and is an ingredient used in lotions and clear soaps, also
food grade glycerin is used in frostings and marshmallows to keep
them soft. Glycerin naturally occurs in fats but they do have to be
distilled to be used.
My grandmother swore by rosewater and glycerin, I hope my skin is as
beautiful at 75 as hers was.
