spent last night using two pastes. One the first was Halawa (where
you add catalyst to powder already in a cone) and the second was a
tube of ready mixed Rani Kone Henna Paste.
Both pastes were applied onto skin that only had the transfer oil on
it. The Halawa paste was quite stiff and compared to the Rani was
awkward to work. The Rani was more a runny yoghurt texture, but it
stayed where it was put on the skin without spreading.
Both stayed on for about two hours, the only difference being the
Halawa had the syrup applied over the top and the Rani was just
touched in on major cracks.
Today I (and the rest of my family have a lot of nice heena designs
that are quite dark and very acceptable. It seems everyone else in
the family takes a stain better than me though! The halawa has
stained more of a bronze/brown and the Rani is more dark coffe. The
odd thing is the Halawa stain on me is noticably weaker than on
erveyone else. Does this happen that some powders just won't have it
on some skins?
I stll have to mess around with the free powder samples that Baron at
pirates-Hoard sent me, but either way i shall certainly buy the Rani
pre mix again. Erspecially as I may already have a party booking and
the results with the Rani (good fine applicator tip also) are
soacceptable for the ease of use.
I did a relative last night and she asked if I'd do a party for her
and her girlfreinds ( can't refuse an oppoutunity like that, me and a
room full of girls!!!!) I offered to do it for free and she wouldn't
hear of it saying they would all contribute soemthin, so at least the
materials will be paid for and I'll get the experience.

This henna thing is going to be a lot of fun.
One thing though I own two parrots and they are little buggers for
picking at any skin imperfections, scabs, moles, hairs etc, so imagine
the delight when one of them found a flaky henna design, hell of a
job to get him off. I wonder, how do parrots react to henna, ie if I
pluck the little bugger will he take a good stain!
