Roads to healing takes a lot of strange twists and turns. There are no mistakes in life so I am glad you found the forum and in henna, found the healing power of the arts in general and Mehendi specifically for you. For years I have provided therapeutic arts workshops entitled, "Art...the way to heal the heart and spirit!" I have met along the way a lot of young and older people who self-injure/self-soothe in the same manner you have chosen and are now choosing to change for something more fullfilling. Good luck on this journey. I am glad that you have already discovered the joy of sharing and putting your joy back out into the universe. If you would not mind, I would like to copy your post (omitting your name) and send a copy to the administration of an agency I conduct workshops for. Your anecdotal account of how the art of Mehandi is working for you is the type of material they need in order to remind them that healing is not solely the domain of the therapist couch. I will do a henna workshop soon for this same agency and think I will entitle it, "Henna and the Art of Healing." That is what I was left with after reading your post. I really appreciate your story. Thank you again for the sharing of it with us. I hope you can feel the many hennaed hands from people of the forum being lifting up for you. You are a welcomed spirit. Maureen
