Here's my guess, having seen this happen twice, and staring at
molecular diagrams.

Your particular lot of EO's may have a high level of either menthol or
camphor. Perhaps it was menthol to kill the TT smell, or perhaps
something was different with that ....batch of trees....whatever.... I
couldn't say for certain. Camphor and menthol have molecules that
seems to nab up h's two at a time as opposed to the others nabbing one
at a time .... and menthol and camphor mixes clump, and yes, there's a
liquidy stuff that separates from the clump.

Use the paste sooner if you keep using those particular brands of EO's
or change brands of EO's. Or ... mix in titanium dioxide to smooth out
the paste.
