Question for CCJ and other Henna scholars

I saw a link on jazibe's page to a woman who had chemo, and had her
head henna'ed. I thought it was beautiful, and I would love to do
this for chemo patients in my area. My mom was bald for the last 3
years of her life due to her fight with cancer, and I think this
would be a really perfect tribute to her. She was a minister (UU)
and, to the end, was always there comforting and ministering to the
other cancer patients. (okay, I'm going to stop rambling now before
I cry the night away.)

My question is, if I just use the henna, lemon, and myabe some sugar
or honey, do you think that it would be safe?

CCJ -- do you have the chemical make-up of henna? My mother made a
lot of friends at NIH, and I could have them check into it, too, if I
could give them a more scientific idea of henna.
