Eucalyptus oil works just as well as mehlabiya oil. Maybe better.

Lawsomes-- i don't know in what way they are toxic. But no, with
normal henna use (i.e. not eating it or something) they never even
enter the body. They simply hang around in the topmost layer of skin,
and never enter the bloodstream. They are not transdermal. You'd have
to eat a metric tonne of henna to cause any damage (bleah!). So
they're really very safe in henna.

: I note on your site that u say Mehlabiya oil may or may not be
safe.
: I have been using it with hectographic transfers. Is there an
: alternative that works as well and is safe. Also on another post
you
: mention something called lowndsomes ( or something close to that,
: can't find post to get correct spelling!) and that Henna contains
: these, and that in high volume they are toxic, but that in Henna
they
: are a nominal amount. ( I hope I got this right) In what way are
they
: toxic, is there any chance they are stored in the body and there
: effects compounded over time? similar to mercury. Can someone have
a
: low tolerance and get some side effects anyway and if so what? Do
: different powders have different amounts in them?
: Thanks in advance
