I had the stuff as a kid and occasionally still do. It's an allergy
that manifests as itchy, red, scaly patches on the skin, usually
symetrically located on the body (ie, if it's on one knee, it's
usually on both) - sometimes called contact dermetitis. It can be
caused by almost anything the person is allergic to - from airborne
allergens (even bad pollution) to contact with grasses, etc. and
sometimes stress even. I have a client that has it and is allegic to
a lot of scented lotions and soaps as well as many other things. On
her, I have had great success with henna powder, lime juice, sugar
and a bit of tea tree oil since it's good for skin ailments. It
helps to ask what their allergies are.
