I have here a bottle of "black henna" powder. It is a pale beige
color. When you mix it with water it turns brown, then black. You
must use it immediately ater mixing. After about 1 hour after mixing
it the stain is dark brown, rather than black, and the longer you
wait before applying the paler the stain. I have been told that the
stain lasts a week to 10 days perhaps. It reportedly does not
contain PPD, and when tested on a person with known PPD sensitivity
there was no reaction. It comes in a small brown bottle with the
word HOYU on the bottom, and supposedly is imported from Japan.

So, does anybody out there know where this comes from, what it might
contain, and is it safe??
