In general, if you leave your paste on for a shorter length of time,
say just a few hours instead of overnight, you will get a lighter
color stain that lasts a shorter amount of time.

To remove designs, or encourage their natural disappearing act to
hurry up, try soaking in long baths and then vigorously toweling the
skin where the design is done. This encourages exfoliation of the
skin, which is how the design disappears.
